Karate Manitoba and the Prairie Karate Association of Saskatchewan welcome you to the Inaugural 2017 ManSask Open Karate Tournament to be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017, at the new Canada Games Sport for Life Centre, 145 Pacific Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Friday, Oct. 27th, 2017 Officials Briefing – 7:00 pm, Qualico Training Centre,145 Pacific Ave. (All officials must attend this review of tournament rules and procedures)
Saturday, Oct. 28th, 2017 Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Tournament begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp

Tournament Fees $35.00 per person one or all events – applicable to Karate Manitoba Members and out-of-province athletes who are members of Karate Canada recognized PSO (karatecanada.org for a complete listing of recognized sport organizations). $50.00 per person one or all events – applicable to non-Karate Manitoba Members and out-of-province athletes who are not members of PSO recognized Karate Canada

Officials/Referees While there is a core group of officials assigned to this event, anyone interested in officiating is welcome to participate. Please contact us at km.officials@live.ca with your: name, phone number, club and current officiating qualification in the WKF system (regional, provincial, state, national)
Divisions
Kata Individual Female and Male 7 to 11 years of age
12 to 14 years of age
15 to 17 years of age
18 years of age and up
Masters event 45 years of age and up
Team Kata Female and Male 7 to 9 years of age
10 to 12years of age
13 to 15 years of age
16 years of age and up
Group of 3 competitors, same gender. Accepted categories: white to green belts, blue to brown belts, brown to black belts). Mixing ages with different divisions will not be permitted.
Kumite Individual Female & Male Little Tigers Event 4 to 6 years of age
7 to 11 years of age
12 to 14 years of age
15 to 17 years of age
18 years of age and up
Masters event 45 years of age and up
Team Kumite Female & Male 14 to 15 years of age
16 to 17 years of age
18 years of age and up
(All levels, minimum 3 competitors, maximum 5 competitors, same gender, categories accepted: white to orange belts, green to purple belts, and brown belts and up)
Medical and Waiver forms Each competitor must submit a completed and signed Waiver and Medical Form in order to be eligible to take part in the Provincial Open. (All levels, minimum 3 competitors, maximum 5 competitors, same gender, categories accepted: white to orange belts, green to purple belts, and brown belts and up)

*Karate Manitoba/Prairie Karate Association reserve the right to make changes to any divisions as necessary.
