"VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT"

KARATE MANITOBA
200 Main Street
WINNIPEG, MANITOBA
R3C 4 M2
March 27, 2008

Dear Karate Manitoba Members,

I am pleased to inform you that Karate Manitoba has officially been accepted as a provincial
member with the NKA. I received a letter yesterday as confirmation. We are looking forward in
working with the national body and taking part in their events and activities. There will be
greater opportunities for our athletes, coaches and officials as the NKA is the body that is
recognized by Sport Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee.
It has taken us a number of months, but last week the NKA executive sent their recommendation
to the national counsel which was approved and ratified by vote. As further developments
unfold, those will be shared with you and posted on our web site.
Sincerely yours,

Meron Solonynka

President
Karate Manitoba

 Respect in Sport Program

Sport Manitoba has mandated that all coaches identified with a Provincial Sport Organization must complete the Respect in Sport Program by December 31st, 2007.  All Karate Manitoba Instructors and Assistant Instructors are required to take this online course.

The Respect in Sport Program can be accessed at http://sportmanitoba.essentialtalk.com   Full information on this program is http://sportmanitoba.ca/respectinsport.php

To take this course, choose your language and register, selecting Karate as your association.  The course is divided into six half-hour modules, each of which is divided into shorter sections.  You can complete the course at your own pace, either a module at a time or by completing individual sections as you have time.

This is a very valuable course put out by Coaching Manitoba.

Karate Manitoba Membership director (Wendy Flannigan) will be keeping record of those who complete this course.
