Karate Manitoba Officials Program

Posted on: October 30th, 2012

The Officials program provides positive instruction and practice to prepare participants in officiating at Karate Manitoba events. Participants will learn the WKF rules of competition as adopted by Karate Manitoba and Karate Canada. The program is will provide participants with the practicum to achieve Provincial licensing and those wishing to achieve National licensing.

Official’s Clinic

In order to benefit all parties, the Officials Training Program will now run in conjunction at the same time as the Provincial Team Training sessions. All Karate Manitoba members (minimum 16 yrs. of age, minimum rank of brown) wishing to learn the rules of competition, are eligible to participate. All those wishing to upgrade or officiate at Karate Manitoba events or at Karate Canada Nationals are required to participate. The next session will be on November 4th, 2012 at Glenwood Community Centre, from 10 am to 1 pm. Please consult the calendar on the Karate Manitoba web site for a schedule of dates and times.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Chair of the Officials Committee for further information.

Officials’ Development Ramp-Up Program Kick Off

Posted on: January 19th, 2012

1. The officials clinic on Jan 21st at Charleswood Karate (5924 Roblin Blvd, Winnipeg) from 1 pm to 5 pm is the kick-off event for the ramp-up program. This is just one of many sessions we will be holding over the coming months. We do hope to see a number of people at the event this weekend, however attendance at this specific event is not itself required to become an official. Individuals interested in officiating will be required to register for the overall ramp-up program to officiate at tournaments, but will be able to do so at subsequent sessions. A detailed calendar of dates will be sent shortly.

2. The officials’ practice with the provincial team on Jan 22nd is also optional. It will be at the Glenwood Community Centre (27 Overton St, Winnipeg) from 10 am to 12 pm.

3. If you would like to register for the ramp-up program, or plan to attend this weekend’s event, please email eugene.fillion@karatemanitoba.ca.

Karate Manitoba has ceased events & will not be sanctioning any tournaments until deemed safe.

We are asking all clubs to discontinue classes until advised that it is safe to return to activities by the Province’s health officials. Thank you for understanding. #karatemanitoba https://t.co/biyuqEfsCk
